Where should my Asian AGOT be from?

I really really really want an Asian AGOT, but i am having trouble figuring out what Asian country she should be from! Any suggestions?

Oh...& does anybody know off a good wig that would suit an asian g irl? I kinda want it to be a bob, or at least not past her shoulders! [img]smile.gif[/img]

Regarding the wig: audreysdolls.com has a great assortment, including some very cute bobs.

Regarding origin: she will tell you!
I currently have 2 AGT4s. After Addy, they are my total favorites! (shhhh! don't tell the rest!)
My first AGT4, Miaoshi, came in already with her name and Chinese origin, right from AG. I named her after an incredibly sweet former student of mine, and her story somehow mimmics that of her namesake.
Kiana, my new AGT4, came in as Hideko... and then changed!
I thought of her as a Japanese girl, but somehow, when the doll arrived it was not quite right.
So, she now tells me that her grandmother (who was Japanese) used to call her Hideko (excellent daughter), but that her name reflects her Hawaiian origin and is Haimi Kiana (seeker of the Moon Goddess)
Go figure...
Now... get ready for an interesting ride, and enjoy your girl when she gets home!

She should come from China! (not that I'm prejudiced or anything, just because that's where my two daughters were born)

And in terms of a wig, couldn't you just cut the doll's hair into a shoulder length bob? My oldest daughter has an Asian AGOT with hair that was cut that length when we bought her from ebay, and she is absolutely adorable with her hair that length.

My asian AGoT is Kaede (means maple leaf in japanese) She is orignally from Kyoto Japan. She grew up around a Shinto Temple, and dreamed of being a Shinto Priestess as a child.

Interestingly enough, Kaede and Molly have grown close in my mind. Which I think is wonderful as most people from Molly's age would have had a very hard time befriending anyone who was japanese. (Take my grandmother for example.)

My 2 Asian dolls were born in San Francisco. They are of mixed heritage. Their father is Japanese. They moved to Texas this year. The older of the 2 was to be named Sakurako, which means cherry blossom. However she insisted her name is Shu-Shu. The other is named Blossom. The girls are in my dolls day album.

Personally I think it would be even more interesting to do a first generation Asian girl, one who was actually born here but whose parents weren't. It would be interesting to imagine the culture shock just within the immediate family from the american values the girl is raised around and Asian ones her family teaches her. I know its probably a bit more standard, but I choose Japan for the country. I am fasicinated by their culture in particular. Just my two cents [img]biggrin.gif[/img]

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Have fun with her.. you could pretend she is from China.. pick a providence.. Nan Ning or somewhere like that.. pretend you adopted her!! You could even print up some adoption papers!!! My sister has two little girls that she adopted thru Holt International Adoption agency. That is what I will do when I get an Asian AGT. : )

OH! Look at the monique wigs.. I had one at one time that was jet back with bangs and was a bob.. just to the shoulders.. was cute as pie.. if I find the link, I will PM it to you.. : )
